INEC Begins PVC Collection in Jema'a, Urges Registrants to Pick Up Cards Ahead of 2027 Elections

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Kaduna State has called on residents who participated in the recent Continuous Voter Registration exercise to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).

The Electoral Officer for Jema'a Local Government Area, Mr. Isaac Duniya Bakura, made the call on Tuesday in Kafanchan while leading INEC staff on a road sensitisation walk to flag off the PVC collection and voter education campaign.

Bakura said collection had commenced in all wards across the local government between October 9 and 10, adding that the sensitisation walk was aimed at mobilising eligible registrants to visit the INEC office for their cards.

He explained that the first phase of the exercise covers those who newly registered, while those who applied for correction, replacement or transfer of cards would receive theirs in due course.

He urged all affected persons to collect their cards, stressing that the PVC remains the only means to exercise their civic responsibility in the forthcoming general elections.

Bakura announced that the Presidential and National Assembly elections would hold on January 16, 2027, while the Governorship and State House of Assembly elections would hold on February 6, 2027, noting that no one can vote without a PVC.

"Your PVC is your power. Your vote is your voice," he said.
