The Management of Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital (DASH), Akwanga, has dismissed social media reports suggesting that the hospital is currently embarking on a new recruitment drive, describing the claims as a misrepresentation of the Chief Medical Director's recent radio interview.
In a press statement issued on Friday, the hospital's management clarified that the recruitment of 25 doctors and 40 nurses referenced by the CMD during his appearance on Option FM Radio, Akwanga was concluded months ago.
According to the statement, the approval for the exercise was granted by Governor Abdullahi Sule in February 2026, following urgent clinical needs that arose after the hospital commenced full services on January 14, 2026. The recruitment process, which was advertised across multiple platforms including the hospital's official Facebook page, saw shortlisted candidates interviewed and successful applicants offered employment in April 2026.
"The recruitment exercise has since been concluded, and the hospital is not currently conducting any new hiring process," the management stated emphatically.
The hospital acknowledged that Option FM Radio had already issued a public rebuttal clarifying the context of the CMD's remarks. However, DASH management said it deemed it necessary to issue this official clarification to forestall further misinformation.
Members of the public are advised to visit the official DASH Facebook page for the full recorded interview session to obtain an accurate account of the CMD's statements.
