Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital Revives Abandoned Ambulance for Emergency Response

In a major boost to emergency medical services, the Management of Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital, Akwanga, has refurbished an ambulance rescuing one of three abandoned vehicles inherited from the defunct Akwanga Model Hospital.

The life-saving vehicle was refurbished at a cost of ₦3.8 million and is now set to serve the hospital and surrounding communities.

Speaking shortly after taking delivery of the refurbished ambulance, the Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Dr. Esala E. Abene, charged the assigned drivers to handle the vehicle with utmost responsibility and deploy it strictly for its intended purpose saving lives.

Dr. Abene revealed that the management undertook the rehabilitation in response to the rising demand for ambulance services within the hospital and its catchment areas. "We recognized the growing need for efficient emergency response, and rather than allow these assets to waste away, we chose to invest in restoring all to full functionality," he stated.

The Management had earlier repaired two other ambulances, bringing to three the total number of refurbished ambulances in the hospital.

With this intervention, the hospital hopes to significantly improve its emergency response times and extend critical care support to communities in and around Akwanga.
