APC Launches 'One Million Votes' Blitz in Southern Kaduna, Declares Zone Solidly Behind Tinubu, Uba Sani
By Abubakar Labaran
The All Progressives Congress (APC) officially inaugurated its "One Million Solidarity Votes" campaign in Southern Kaduna on Saturday, with party leaders, government officials, and key stakeholders vowing to secure a landslide victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Uba Sani, and all APC candidates in the 2027 general elections.
The campaign was launched at the inauguration of the Southern Kaduna APC Support Group in Kafanchan, the headquarters of Jema'a Local Government Area. Speakers at the event asserted that the developmental achievements of the Tinubu and Uba Sani administrations have significantly bolstered the party's popularity across the region.
The gathering attracted a wide cross-section of attendees, including serving and former political office holders, traditional rulers, religious leaders, youth and women's groups, professionals, civil servants, community leaders, and thousands of party supporters from Southern Kaduna's eight local government areas.
Delivering the keynote address, the Kaduna State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Barr. James Kanyip, stated that the APC-led administration has fundamentally transformed Southern Kaduna's development landscape through inclusive governance, equitable appointments, infrastructure development, and improved security.
Speaking on the theme, "Consolidating the Achievements of the APC-Led Government in Southern Kaduna: The Imperative of Re-electing APC in the 2027 General Election," Kanyip noted that the region had long endured political exclusion, inadequate infrastructure, and poor representation. However, he highlighted that Governor Uba Sani has adopted a governance model rooted in dialogue, fairness, and balanced development.
According to the Attorney-General, the administration has executed projects across virtually every sector, including healthcare, education, agriculture, roads, rural electrification, water supply, and security.
He detailed specific achievements, including the renovation and upgrade of no fewer than 75 Primary Healthcare Centres and seven General Hospitals across Southern Kaduna. Furthermore, additional health workers have been recruited, and health insurance coverage has been expanded for vulnerable residents.
Kanyip also cited a 50 per cent reduction in tuition fees at state-owned tertiary institutions, the rehabilitation of schools, the construction of additional classrooms, improved teachers' welfare, and investments in technical education. He listed ongoing road projects, rural electrification initiatives, water supply schemes, and agricultural interventions as further evidence of the administration's commitment to spreading development across the state.
The Attorney-General commended President Tinubu for approving the establishment of the Federal University of Applied Sciences in Kachia and the Federal Medical Centre in Kafanchan, describing both institutions as landmark interventions that will transform education, healthcare, and economic activities in Southern Kaduna.
On security, Kanyip stated that the state government's non-kinetic approach, supported by collaboration with the military and other security agencies, has restored relative peace in many communities. This has led to the return of displaced persons, the reopening of local markets, and the resumption of farming activities.
"The achievements of this administration are visible and verifiable. Governance should be judged by performance rather than political sentiments. The task before us is to consolidate these gains by ensuring continuity beyond 2027," he said.
Representing the Kaduna State APC Chairman, Mr. Atiku Sankey, the Southern Kaduna APC Zonal Chairman, Hon. Shehu Tafa, described the One Million Solidarity Votes Campaign as a strategic initiative to complement the party's existing structures ahead of the 2027 polls. He urged members of the support group to carry the APC's message of development, peace, and good governance to every ward, polling unit, village, and community in Southern Kaduna.
"This inauguration is not merely about positions or titles. It is a call to service.
