The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has passed a vote of confidence in Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule, praising what it called a “remarkable transformation” in the state’s education sector.

The endorsement came on Tuesday during an educational summit organized by the NANS National Headquarters at the GST Hall, College of Education, Akwanga. The event drew student leaders from various departments and institutions across the state.

NANS National Secretary-General, Comrade Anzaku Shedrack, said the association was impressed by the governor’s investments in school infrastructure, learning facilities, and student welfare programs. He specifically noted that upgrades at the College of Education, Akwanga, and other tertiary institutions have made learning more conducive.

“Governor Sule has shown genuine commitment to education. From classroom blocks to laboratories and ICT centers, his administration is changing the face of education in Nasarawa State,” Anzaku stated.

The Nasarawa State Students Coordinator of the City Boys Movement, Comrade Umar Yusuf, also commended Governor Sule alongside President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for policies that have improved access to quality education.

Speaking on behalf of students, the SUG President of the College of Education, Akwanga, Comrade Musa Godiya Ayiwuku, noted that the summit and other NANS programs were made possible by the improved environment Governor Sule has fostered in schools. He urged the governor to sustain the momentum and expand scholarship and skill acquisition support for students.

Since assuming office in 2019, Governor Sule’s administration has prioritized education through the construction of new classrooms, renovation of existing structures, and deployment of modern teaching aids across all 13 local government areas.

NANS further stated that it would mobilize students to support government policies aimed at strengthening education and youth development in the state.
