The Member of the National Assembly representing Jema’a/Sanga Federal Constituency, Honourable Daniel Amos, has commended Engineer Joseph Chiroma for stepping down from the Kaduna South Senatorial race in support of the incumbent Senator, Barrister Sunday Marshall Katung, ahead of the party primaries.
Amos gave the commendation on Sunday during the inauguration of his campaign team at his constituency office in Kafanchan, the headquarters of Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The legislator described Chiroma’s decision as a demonstration of political maturity, sacrifice, and commitment to party unity, noting that such gestures were critical to strengthening internal cohesion and improving the chances of electoral victory.
According to the lawmaker, “Engineer Chiroma has shown himself to be a man of empathy and foresight. His decision to step down in support of Senator Katung is not only commendable but also a reflection of his dedication to the collective interest of the people and the party.”
Amos further expressed confidence in Senator Katung’s re-election prospects, citing his performance and widespread grassroots support across the senatorial district.
Highlighting his own political structure, the lawmaker disclosed that he currently engages nearly 300 legislative aides across his constituency, all of whom are on regular salaries.
“Close to 300 legislative aides under my office are receiving salaries. With this level of structure and grassroots engagement, it will be difficult for any opposition to defeat us,” he said.
He added that the inauguration of the campaign team marked the beginning of intensified political mobilisation ahead of the elections, urging supporters to remain united and committed to ensuring victory for the party at all levels.
Amos reaffirmed his commitment to effective representation and pledged to continue delivering democratic dividends to his constituents.
