Tinubu Appoints Dr. Bongfa Binfa as Rector of Federal Polytechnic, N’yak-Shendam

President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Dr. Bongfa Binfa as the Rector of the Federal Polytechnic, N’yak-Shendam, in Plateau State. The appointment was announced on Wednesday in a statement by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

Dr. Binfa, an engineer from Plateau State, has been appointed for a single term of five years. He succeeds the pioneer Rector of the institution, Dr. Mukaila Zakari Ya’u, whose tenure expired on March 16, 2026.

The new rector holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Mechanical Engineering from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. Prior to this appointment, Dr. Binfa served as Deputy Rector (Academic) at the Federal Polytechnic of Oil and Gas, Bonny, and was also a lecturer at the Federal Polytechnic, Idah.
