Jema’a LG Chairman Dogara Leads Majalisan Falke on Solidarity Visit to Professor Sunday Agang After His Release from Captivity

In a wave of relief and joy, the Executive Chairman of Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Honourable Peter Tanko Dogara, led some members of the Majalisan Falke community on a solidarity visit to Professor Sunday Agang, who was recently freed from the hands of kidnappers.

The visit, held at his residence in Gada Biyu, Jos, the headquarters of Plateau State, was marked by prayers of thanksgiving for his safe return and intercession for others still in captivity.

Identifying with the professor during the visit, Honourable Peter Tanko thanked and commended Almighty God for His mercies and for being there for all. 

The chairman noted that the Majalisan Falke community is one body that has every member at heart, meaning that whatever happens to any member touches the rest. He said the news of the abduction came as a shock to all members, thanking God for the professor’s safety and asking for divine protection so that such an ordeal will not happen to anyone again, especially because some victims did not survive.

 He then called for collective prayers against the infamous challenge bedevilling communities, insisting that prayer is the only weapon that can reduce the situation to the barest minimum.

Earlier in a keen address, the Secretary of the Majalisan Falke community, Reverend David Nashe Ajeyet, commended the Jema’a Local Government Chairman, Honourable Peter Tanko Dogara, for sponsoring the visit and described him as one of the best things to ever happen to the local government area. 

Comparing Dogara to the late Governor of Kaduna State, Sir Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa, Reverend Ajeyet prayed that God would bless the chairman abundantly and open more doors for him to continue presenting quality leadership to the people.

Reverend Ajeyet told Professor Agang that he is a man of the people whose abduction shook the entire communities into fasting and prayers until his release by God’s grace. Quoting Psalm 23:4  “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil” Ajeyet said the Majalisan Falke community will continue to pray not only for the professor but for all Nigerians affected by insecurity.

Also speaking during the visit, the Vice Chairman of the Majalisan Falke community, Comrade Yusuf Tah, expressed joy that the community was meeting Professor Sunday Agang in good health after the terrible experience he went through. Tah echoed prayers that God would help security agencies ensure that all the challenges across the country come to an end by God’s grace. He urged continued prayers and vigilance, stressing that the professor’s safe return should strengthen hope for others still in captivity.

In his response, the professor described the visit led by the chairman as “the best of all the visits,” noting that the chairman had left his tight schedules to lead a delegation to come and see him. “The chairman will be blessed abundantly,” the professor said, expressing deep gratitude. He thanked the people for “all the prayers which God answered,” adding that although the experience was harrowing, he believes “God sent him to bring back a message.”

He appreciated the love demonstrated by Majalisan Falke, saying it was an indication that his people value him. 

He urged the group to “stand behind the chairman and let the people know that they have a credible leader.” Addressing his guests, the professor stressed resilience over fear: “No matter what happened, we should live as free people and not live in fear.” He added, “I know you came because you value me. I also love you. I love the people of Jema’a, Kaduna State, Nigeria, Africa, and the whole world.” He called for concerted action on insecurity, insisting that “the situation should be tackled because God is in control.”

The visit ended with prayers for his continued recovery, for others still in captivity, and for lasting peace, with attendees asking God that such an ordeal “will not happen to anybody again.”

In a similar development, the chairman led the group to the home of the Chairman of Majalisan Falke, Alhaji Ali Fadi, on Ogbomosho Street, Kafanchan. The visit was also to identify with Alhaji Ali Fadi, whose son was recently kidnapped and released.

Hon. Peter Tanko Dogara consoled the chairman and urged him to consider the experience as fate, stressing that the membership of the group will never be taken for granted, as they will always be there for their members whenever the need arises.

Addressing the chairman and the visitors, Alhaji Ali expressed immense gratitude to the chairman for being there for him and his family during their time of trial. 

He thanked everyone for their concern and prayers until the return of his son, observing that coming together in love and harmony as a group will go a long way in improving mutual trust, respect, and understanding among the people politically.

Alhaji Ali admonished all to love one another and continue to respect the rule of law and constituted authorities, above all supporting Chairman Honourable Peter Tanko Dogara. He observed that he has passed through several regimes in Jema’a Local Government Area, but one of the best chairmen ever to emerge is Honourable Peter Tanko Dogara. Against that backdrop, he urged the chairman to sustain the tempo of bringing rapid development to humanity.
