Excellence in Leadership: NUT Honours Jema'a Chairman, Peter Tanko Dogara

The Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT), Jema'a Local Government chapter, has presented an award of excellence to the Executive Chairman of Jema'a Local Government Area, Honourable Peter Tanko Dogara, in recognition of his outstanding leadership.

Presenting the award to the Chairman in his office in Kafanchan, the NUT Chairman for the local government chapter, Comrade Luka Jolly Black, highlighted the Chairman’s significant efforts in advancing the education sector to a new level of meaningful development since he assumed office.

Comrade Jolly expressed the Union’s gratitude for the Chairman’s exceptional leadership style, noting that his administration has recorded numerous achievements, made possible with the support of the Governor of Kaduna State, His Excellency Senator Uba Sani CON. He cited key improvements, including:

· Enhanced teachers’ welfare.

· Implementation of backlog payments for teachers’ promotions.

· Provision of learning materials to schools across the local government.

· Refurbishment of the Education Board vehicle, which had been broken down for an extended period.

· Prompt payment of workers’ salaries, a first of its kind in the history of the local government.

The delegation included a State NUT officer, Comrade Pius James, other NUT officials, selected head teachers from across the local government, and the NUT’s proposed media team.

Receiving the award, the Chairman thanked the NUT for the honour and assured them that he would continue to prioritize the education sector in his blueprint, emphasizing that education is the bedrock of development in any society.

Honourable Dogara reiterated his commitment to providing quality leadership to the people of Jema'a Local Government, aligning with the vision of the Kaduna State Executive Governor, His Excellency Senator Uba Sani.
