Senator Katung Mourns Passing of Kagarko Emir,Alhaji Sa'ad Abubakar

Senator Sunday Marshall Katung, representing Kaduna South Senatorial District, has sent a condolence message to the Kagarko Emirate Council following the passing of His Royal Highness, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, the Emir of Kagarko.

In a statement released to the press, Senator Katung expressed his profound sorrow at the news of the Emir's demise after a brief illness.

"It is with profound sorrow and a heavy heart that I received the sad news of the passing of His Royal Highness, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, the Emir of Kagarko Emirate," the Senator said.

"On behalf of my family and the good people of Kaduna South Senatorial District, I extend my deepest condolences to the Kagarko Emirate Council, the immediate family of the late Emir, the people of Kagarko Local Government Area, and the government and people of Kaduna State."

The Senator eulogized the late monarch as a respected royal father, a symbol of wisdom and humility, and a selfless leader who served with integrity. He noted that throughout his reign, the Emir distinguished himself as a father to all, a custodian of cultural heritage, and a bridge between tradition and modern governance.

"His commitment to peace, unity, and harmonious coexistence among diverse communities within the Emirate and beyond will remain indelible in our collective memory," the statement read.

It further highlighted that the late Emir’s leadership was marked by patience, fairness, and a deep sense of responsibility. Even amidst challenges, he remained a steadfast voice for moderation, dialogue, and understanding. His contributions to community development, conflict resolution, and cultural preservation were described as a lasting legacy for future generations.

"This loss is indeed a monumental one, not only to the Kagarko Emirate but to Kaduna State and the nation at large. We have lost a statesman in the traditional institution, whose counsel and guidance were invaluable," Senator Katung stated.

The Senator concluded with a prayer: "At this moment of grief, I pray that Almighty Allah (SWT), in His infinite mercy, forgives his shortcomings, grants him Aljannatul Firdaus, and gives his family, the Emirate Council, and all those he left behind the strength and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss."

"May his soul rest in perfect peace, and may his legacy of peace, unity, and service continue to guide us all."
