Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang Resigns from PDP in Major Political Shake-up

JOS, PLATEAU STATE –  In a stunning political development, Plateau State Governor Caleb Manasshi Mutfwang has officially resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Governor Mutfwang submitted a formal resignation notice dated December 29, 2025, addressed to the PDP Ward Chairman in Ampang West Ward, Mangu Local Government Area, declaring his departure effective immediately.

The notice, received on December 26 by the Ward Chairman, Mr. Deyick Sunday, expressed the Governor's appreciation to the PDP for providing him a political platform. Mutfwang acknowledged the support he received from party leaders, members, and supporters throughout his political career.

In the letter, the Governor cited "the realities of the moment" alongside his commitment to "purposeful leadership, clarity of direction, and service delivery" as the driving forces behind his decision to leave the party.

"Given the realities of the moment and guided by my commitment to purposeful leadership, clarity of direction, and service delivery, I am compelled to seek an alternative political platform," the Governor stated in the notice.

This resignation marks a seismic shift in the political landscape of Plateau State and poses a significant challenge to the PDP's structure in the region. It remains undisclosed which new political platform Governor Mutfwang intends to join.
