Nasarawa State Ministry of Education Holds Pre-Resumption Meeting, Charts Course for Improved Term

Ahead of schools' resumption, the Nasarawa State Ministry of Education has convened key stakeholders to review past performance and strategize for the upcoming term.

The meeting, led by the State Commissioner for Education, Dr. John D. W. Mamman, brought together executives from NSUBEB, the Teachers’ Service Commission, the Scholarship Board, representatives of private school owners (NAPPS & APSON), principals (ANCOPSS), Parent-Teacher Associations, and evaluation officers.

Dr. Mamman emphasized the collaborative nature of educational development, stating, “Education is not a one-man business. I sincerely appreciate your immense contributions and commitment to what I consider the most important industry.”

A key highlight was the update on the Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) project. The State Project Coordinator, Hajiya Aishatu Aliyu Isoga, reported ongoing interventions including new boreholes, upgraded infrastructure, and improved Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) facilities in public secondary schools. She urged principals and School-Based Management Committees to ensure proper maintenance of the new facilities.

The session concluded with goodwill messages from various agencies, who commended Governor Abdullahi A. Sule for his support and praised the Education Ministry's leadership.
