Fulafia Welcomes Postgraduate Scholars, Vows to Fuel National Development with Quality Research
The Federal University of Lafia (Fulafia) in Nasarawa State has formally admitted a new cohort of students into its postgraduate programmes for the 2025/2026 academic session.
At the matriculation ceremony held on Thursday in Lafia, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Shehu Abdul-Rahaman, welcomed the students into Postgraduate Diploma, Master’s, and Doctorate degree programmes across various disciplines.
He affirmed that the university has sustained high standards in its postgraduate school since inception, producing graduates who have excelled both within Nigeria and internationally.
“Our postgraduate college has consistently lived up to its mandate,” Abdul-Rahaman stated. “We are committed to maintaining rigorous standards so that our research outputs provide tangible solutions to national challenges.”
The Vice-Chancellor described the university as a key contributor of skilled human capital needed to drive the country’s development. He encouraged the new students to fully engage with the academic and professional opportunities available, including lectures, workshops, and community projects.
“While postgraduate studies can be demanding, we are here to support you in honing your skills, talents, and passions,” he added.
Abdul-Rahaman also urged the students to seek guidance from faculty and peers when needed and to remain focused on their academic goals.
On security, he assured that the university is collaborating with security agencies to safeguard students, staff, and facilities across its two campuses. Students were advised to promptly report any suspicious activity to the university authorities. (NAN)
