Senator Katung Calls for Unity, Embraces Shared Humanity in Christmas Message

By: Abubakar Labaran

As Christmas celebrations unfold worldwide, Senator Sunday Marshall Katung, representing Kaduna South Senatorial District, has called on Christians—and all citizens—to embrace this season as a time of shared love, peace, and renewed hope.

In a Christmas message issued to his constituents, Senator Katung urged, “Let us share love with everyone this Christmas.”

“As we gather to celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ,” he said, “we are reminded that Christmas renews our love, hope, and faith. It calls us to reflect on His sacrifice for humanity—a powerful reminder of light over darkness, good over evil, and life over death.”

The Senator emphasized that Christ’s life exemplifies enduring values: compassion, forgiveness, humility, and kindness. He noted that Christmas is not only a time for giving among families and communities, but also an opportunity to strengthen bonds, foster peace, and spread joy across all divides.

“My family and I join millions of Christians around the world in reminding you that you are loved, valued, and deeply cherished,” he continued. “We pray this season brings comfort, peace, and renewed hope to the people of Kaduna South, Kaduna State, and Nigeria as a whole.”

Katung stressed the importance of looking beyond differences. “I urge us all to hold firmly to the promise of a brighter future. Let us continue to share love with everyone, regardless of political, ethnic, or religious lines, and embrace the shared humanity that unites us.”

He concluded with a prayer that the festive season would usher in blessings, prosperity, and fresh hope for a stronger, more united Nigeria. “Let us continue to support and uplift one another as we journey together into the new year.”
