Former Taraba gov. aspirant defects to PDP

A former governorship aspirant under the All Progressives Congress (APC),in Taraba state, Senator Joel Danlami Ikenya has defected to the People's Democratic Party (PDP). 

Ikenya who was once a senator under the PDP and Minister of Labour, disclosed this in a Christmas message. 

In the message he stated that: "I want to begin by expressing my deepest gratitude for the love and solidarity you have shown to me since my political journey, which spanned over many years.

"After careful consideration, due diligence, and wide consultations, I am pleased to announce that I have formally  defected from the All Progressives  Congress (APC) to the  Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the interest of my people, Tarabans".

He acknowledged that PDP gave him the platform to be what he is and appreciated the love shown to him. 

He added, "You are all aware that PDP remains a party that has given me the platform to attain all the positions that I ever got in politics and this is where  I believe I am loved".

Ikenya is joining the PDP at a time the state is experiencing a mass exodus to the APC, especially the decision of the governor, Agbu Kefas to defect to tge ruling party.
