Atiku Champions ADC in Taraba, Declares Party as 2027 Alternative
By Nick Yashi, Jalingo
Jalingo, Taraba state - Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar inaugurated the Taraba State office of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) on Tuesday, declaring the party as the credible alternative to rescue Nigeria from the governing All Progressives Congress (APC).
Atiku, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate in 2023, expressed strong confidence that the ADC will win the 2027 general elections.
Accompanied by party supporters from Adamawa, Bauchi, Plateau, Kano, and other states, he urged Nigerians to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), warning that without registration, the push for change in 2027 would fail.
He sharply criticized the current administration for failing to improve the lives of citizens.
“It is unfortunate that this government deceived the people and plunged the country into insecurity, hunger, poverty, and joblessness,” Atiku said.
“The APC has brought nothing but hardship. In 2027, we must elect leaders who will make life meaningful again.”
The Taraba State ADC Chairman, Hassan Adamu, pledged that the party would win the state in the next elections.
“A new government will be formed in 2027, and we will deliver Taraba to the ADC and Atiku,” Adamu stated.
During the event, the party’s Transition Committee was inaugurated, with Senator Abubakar Tutare as Chairman and Barrister Haruna Kwetishe as Secretary.
