Chiroma Eyes Kaduna South Senate Seat, Begins Grassroots Mobilization

Kafanchan - Kaduna state. Engr. Joseph Chiroma, former General Manager of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), has begun intensive grassroots consultations ahead of a potential run for the Kaduna South Senatorial seat in the 2027 general elections.
In a significant show of force, Chiroma met with stakeholders, party executives, and ward councillors from all eight local government areas constituting the Kaduna South Senatorial District. The meeting, held in Kafanchan, was well-attended by members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who expressed strong support for his ambition.
Attendees hailed Chiroma as a dedicated son of the area, pointing to his record of community development. This includes constructing boreholes, restoring power by providing transformers, and delivering other essential amenities to rural communities.
Addressing the party faithful, Chiroma pledged to provide purposeful, people-centered leadership if elected. He reiterated his lifelong commitment to serving the people of Southern Kaduna and beyond, stating that service to humanity remains his primary goal.
He also reaffirmed his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani, acknowledging their administration's investments in the region, such as establishing a university and a Federal Medical Centre.
Earlier, the Director General of Chiroma's movement, Mr. Patrick Katuka, expressed optimism about the positive change Chiroma would bring. He highlighted the aspirant's past contributions using his personal resources as evidence of his genuine dedication.
"Engr. Joseph Chiroma has consistently demonstrated his commitment to the well-being of his people," Katuka stated. "Given the mandate, he will provide the visionary, accountable leadership needed to elevate Southern Kaduna."
Other speakers echoed this sentiment, describing Chiroma as a leader poised to make a meaningful impact, citing his longstanding record of improving lives through tangible projects.
Prominent personalities in attendance pledged their support for his senatorial bid, unanimously agreeing that he represents the region's best chance for progress.
The event was attended by Ado Dogo Audu, Yunana Barde, Augustine Beguwa, Hajiya Hadiza Farouk, Prof. Yaki Katuka, Dr. Katuka, alongside various speakers, chairpersons, and selected councillors from the invited local government areas.
