NSUBEB Official Praises Teachers, Catches Their Supervisor Without a Lesson Plan

A surprise inspection at LGEA Primary School Andaha South in Akwanga LGA took an ironic turn when a Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board (NSUBEB) official discovered the assistant headmaster, who had signed off on teachers' lesson notes, had not prepared his own.

The monitoring team, led by Permanent Member Allahnana Attah, arrived at the school around 9:51 am. While three teachers—Rebecca Likita, Aishatu Mohammed, and Sule Daggi—were rewarded with a cash token for their up-to-date lesson notes and punctuality, Assistant Headmaster Dominic Alati was found lacking.

Mr. Attah expressed his surprise, noting that while the teachers' well-planned notes were "not common," it was concerning that the supervisor who checked and approved them was not leading by example.

The visit was part of a statewide initiative by the new NSUBEB Chairman, Dr. Kassim Muhammad Kassim, who is insisting on strict adherence to proper teaching methods, including the use of detailed lesson plans.
