Governor Sule Greenlights Recruitment of 1,000 Teachers to Strengthen Basic Education

In a significant move to address the shortage of teaching staff, His Excellency Governor Abdullahi Sule has approved the recruitment of one thousand (1,000) teachers for primary and junior secondary schools within Nasarawa State.

The Executive Chairman of the Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board (NSUBEB), Dr. Kassim Muh'd Kassim, disclosed this development on Tuesday after a strategic meeting with the Executive Chairmen of the state's 13 Local Government Councils.

To ensure a swift and transparent process, a seven-man committee comprising four members from NSUBEB and three from the Local Government Councils will be inaugurated promptly.

Dr. Kassim expressed profound gratitude to Governor Sule for his responsive leadership. "This approval directly addresses the concerns of our citizens and reinforces the government's commitment to establishing a solid educational foundation for every child," he stated.

Complementing this new recruitment, Dr. Kassim further reported that, to date, 1,900 administrative staff possessing teaching qualifications have been redeployed to classrooms as part of a comprehensive strategy to close the gap in teacher staffing.
