Qua’an-Pan LGA Convenes Security Summit After Displacing Attacks

QUA’AN-PAN, Plateau State –In response to a series of devastating attacks, Chairman Christopher Manship of the Qua’an-Pan Local Government Area (LGA) has convened a major security stakeholders meeting, calling for a unified front to restore peace and security.

The meeting, held at the LGA Guest House in Doemak, brought together traditional rulers, religious leaders, and development associations following attacks in late August that displaced numerous residents and destroyed livelihoods just as the harvest season began.

According to a statement from the Chairman’s Director of Press and Publicity, Danaan Sylvanus, the suspected gunmen targeted the communities of Nteng, Doop, Zhep Morop, Gyeergu, Kelaghan, Loon, Kwakii, and Gorom in the Doemak District.

In his address, Chairman Manship urged all community leaders to join his administration in condemning the violence and working toward a permanent solution.

“The aim of this stakeholders’ meeting is to end these attacks and build a more secure and prosperous Qua’an-Pan for all,” Manship stated. He confirmed that security agencies have been mobilized to the affected areas to bring the situation under control and facilitate the safe return of those displaced.

The initiative was commended by the Plateau State Commissioner of Culture, Tourism, and Hospitality, Cornelius Doeyok, who applauded the Chairman for taking decisive action.

Adding his voice, the Chairman of the Qua’an-Pan Traditional Council, Safiyanu Allahnanan, emphasized the crucial role traditional rulers must play in restoring peace and stability to the impacted communities.

Demonstrating his commitment, Chairman Manship has already visited the attacked communities to assess the damage and reassure residents of his administration's dedication to their welfare and safety.
