Pathfinders Hail Security Gains in Southern Kaduna, Commend Senator Katung's role

 The Pathfinders, a civic advocacy group, have applauded the significant progress in tackling insecurity across Southern Kaduna, attributing the recent successes to strengthened collaboration between the Federal Government, the military high command, the Kaduna State Government, and Senator Sunday Marshall Katung.

Speaking at a press briefing in Kaduna on Friday, the group's Convener, Habila Isah Kayit, stated that the region, long plagued by insecurity that hindered development and shattered community life, has experienced a renewed sense of calm and hope in recent months.

Kayit described Senator Katung as a “bridge-builder and strategic leader” who has consistently advocated for stronger security interventions at the national level while fostering dialogue with local communities to ensure stability.

“Security is the foundation of every meaningful development. For years, Southern Kaduna suffered unimaginable losses, but today we are witnessing real progress because of the synergy between the Chief of Defence Staff, Governor Uba Sani, and our Senator, Sunday Marshall Katung,” Kayit said. “He is not just representing us in Abuja; he is working hand-in-hand with the right institutions to ensure our people can pursue their livelihoods without fear.”

The group emphasized that the improved security situation has enabled renewed economic activities and increased community confidence. They credited Katung’s ability to coordinate with authorities at both federal and state levels as a key factor, noting his commitment to placing Southern Kaduna’s interests above partisan politics.

Kayit argued that sustaining these gains requires continuity in leadership. “It is unreasonable to change your best player in the middle of a crucial match when he is delivering results. We must rally behind Senator Katung to ensure the current momentum in tackling insecurity and driving development is not lost,” he stated.

The Pathfinders pledged to continue mobilizing support for leaders who demonstrate the vision and capacity to solve the region's pressing challenges. They called on the people of Southern Kaduna to unite behind efforts to consolidate the peace and dividends of democracy they now enjoy.
