Nasarawa Govt Warns Political Appointees Against Early Campaigning

 The Nasarawa State Government has cautioned political appointees against participating in political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In a circular issued by the Secretary to the Government, *Dr. Labaran Shuaibu Magaji*, the government expressed concern over reports that some appointees have begun aligning with aspiring candidates, despite the official ban on political campaigns still in effect.

The statement reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to development, warning that premature political involvement violates the *Electoral Act* and could distract from ongoing service delivery.

Appointees engaged in such activities have been advised to either *resign* or focus on their official duties until the ban is lifted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The government stated it would no longer tolerate acts of *disloyalty* or *insubordination*, stressing the importance of discipline within the administration.
