KASSOBA President Hails Members for Unity, Progress as New Secretariat is Commissioned

The National President of the Kagoro Secondary School Old Boys Association (KASSOBA), Dr. Mark Anthony, has commended the Board of Trustees (BOT) members, the Executive Committee (EXCO), and the general membership for their unwavering support and cooperation in advancing the association’s growth.  

Dr. Anthony expressed his gratitude during his remarks at the 2025 Annual General Meeting (AGM) and the commissioning of the association’s newly renovated National Secretariat, held at the school premises in Kagoro, Kaura Local Government Area of Kaduna State.  

He particularly acknowledged the BOT Chairman, Lt. Col. Paul Zakka Wyom (Rtd.), and other trustees for their invaluable guidance and fatherly advice to the EXCO whenever needed.  

The president noted that despite numerous challenges, the current administration had recorded significant achievements, including:  

- The relocation and renovation of the National Secretariat from Kaduna to Kagoro, commissioned by the association’s Grand Patron, His Royal Highness, Chief Ufuwai Bonet, the Agwam Oegworok.  

- The constitution review committee’s work on updating the 2014 amended constitution.  

- Recognition of distinguished alumni for their contributions.  

Dr. Anthony revealed that the EXCO inherited an empty treasury upon assuming office and had to rely largely on personal funds to execute key projects. He emphasized the importance of the AGM in fostering unity, improving membership engagement, and enhancing communication to support both the association and their alma mater.  

During the Secretariat’s commissioning, the Agwam Oegworok, Chief Ufuwai Bonet, praised KASSOBA members for their dedication in securing a befitting headquarters for the association. He also lauded the president and his team for their relentless efforts in driving the school’s progress.  

In his keynote address, the BOT Chairman, Lt. Col. Paul Zakka Wyom (Rtd.), represented by Dr. Anthony Anono, reaffirmed the board’s commitment to supporting the EXCO. He highlighted the critical role of alumni in school development, urging members—especially those within the community—to take greater ownership of the institution.  

“Government alone cannot shoulder all responsibilities,” he stated, calling on inactive members to actively participate in KASSOBA’s activities and contribute to its growth.  

The event underscored the association’s collective resolve to elevate Kagoro Secondary School to greater heights through sustained collaboration and shared responsibility.
