Senator Lalong Expresses Shock, Mourns Passing of Former Immigration CG David Paradang

Senator Simon Lalong of Plateau South Senatorial District and former Governor of Plateau State has expressed profound sorrow over the death of David Shikfu Paradang, former Comptroller General (CG) of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS).

In a statement released on Tuesday, Lalong described Paradang’s passing as “heartbreaking and devastating,” praising the late immigration chief’s decades of patriotic service to Nigeria. He highlighted Paradang’s distinguished career, during which he rose to lead the NIS and implemented reforms that strengthened border security and modernized the agency.

“The loss of Mr. Paradang leaves a significant void in our nation,” Lalong said. “His contributions to national security and public service remain indelible. I urge his family, friends, and colleagues to take solace in his enduring legacy of excellence and dedication.”

The senator also called on law enforcement agencies to conduct a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding Paradang’s death, emphasizing the need for transparency and accountability.

Lalong extended condolences to the Paradang family, the NIS community, the Government of Plateau State, and Nigerians nationwide, urging unity in honoring the late CG’s memory. He concluded with a prayer for divine comfort for the bereaved and eternal rest for Paradang’s soul
