Zamfara Lawmaker Builds N200 Million Juma'at Mosque for Kekun Community

Hon. Abdulmalik Zubairu, the House of Representatives member representing Maru and Bungudu Local Government Areas in Zamfara State, has commissioned a newly constructed Juma'at Mosque in Kekun Waje Village, Maru Local Government. The mosque, which cost N200 million, was officially opened on Wednesday.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Hon. Zubairu, represented by the All Progressives Congress (APC) State Secretary, Ibrahim Umar, emphasized that the mosque project includes modern toilet facilities to enhance the comfort of worshippers. He explained that the initiative aligns with his commitment to promoting Islam and improving the welfare of his constituents.

The APC secretary highlighted Hon. Zubairu's other developmental projects, including the construction of a three-block classroom in Kadauri Village, nine solar-powered boreholes across various locations, and 210 hand-pump boreholes distributed across the 21 political wards in his constituency. These efforts aim to provide access to clean drinking water for the benefiting communities.

Additionally, Hon. Zubairu has installed 508 solar-powered streetlights in Bungudu Town and connected the Ruggar Kaya Community to the national grid, among other impactful projects completed within his two-year tenure.

Ibrahim Umar urged the benefiting communities to utilize and maintain the projects effectively for their long-term benefit.

In his remarks, the District Head of Kekun Waje, Marafa Alhaji Garba Umar, praised Hon. Zubairu for his dedication to the development of his constituency. He assured the lawmaker that the community would ensure the proper use and maintenance of the mosque for generation to come.
