Permanent Secretary Praises Former Commissioner for Transformative Leadership in Water Resources Ministry

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry for Water Resources and Rural Development, Engr. Akase Abdullahi Ayitogo, has lauded the immediate past Commissioner of the Ministry, Alhaji Abubakar Odah Akum, as a paragon of truth and integrity. Speaking at a farewell ceremony organized in honor of the former Commissioner and the Director of Water Resources, Ayitogo highlighted Akum's significant contributions during his tenure, which he said inspired many within the Ministry.

Ayitogo reminisced about the cordial working relationship he shared with Akum, emphasizing that the former Commissioner initiated numerous policies and programs that bolstered the effectiveness of the Ministry of Water Resources and related agencies in the state. 

He noted that under Akum's leadership, the Ministry achieved remarkable milestones, and he urged the current management and staff to build on this legacy to further the Ministry's objectives.

Describing Akum as both an inspiration and a father figure to the Ministry's staff, Ayitogo expressed that his absence would be deeply felt, particularly his fatherly advice and counseling. 

Heads of various agencies under the Ministry also commended Akum's leadership, crediting him with transformative changes that positively impacted their respective organizations. They pledged to continue collaborating closely with the Ministry to achieve their shared goals.

In their farewell remarks, Akum and the Director of Water Resources expressed gratitude to the Ministry's management and staff for their unwavering support during their service years. They urged the staff to extend the same level of cooperation to the Permanent Secretary to ensure the Ministry's continued progress. 

The event underscored the profound impact of Akum's leadership and the enduring legacy he leaves behind in the Ministry of Water Resources and Rural Development.
