Jema’a LG Chairman Urges Youth to Champion Peace and Innovation for Community Development

The Chairman of Jema’a Local Government Area in Kaduna State, Honourable Peter Tanko Dogara, has called on youths in the region to actively engage in innovative initiatives that foster peace, unity, and security.
Dogara made the appeal during the grand finale of a 5-aside football tournament held at Model Primary School in Jagindi Tasha. The event, organized by the Speaker of the Jema’a Local Government Legislative Council, Honourable Muhammed Sabiu Oshafu, aimed to promote peaceful coexistence among communities.
Addressing the gathering, the Chairman emphasized the critical role of youths as ambassadors of peace, stating that security is a collective responsibility. “Without peace and security, there can be no meaningful development,” he said, urging the youths to take ownership of initiatives that strengthen communal harmony.
Dogara commended Honourable Oshafu for organizing the tournament, noting that such events play a vital role in uniting people and fostering a culture of peace. He also encouraged the youths to sustain their efforts in promoting unity and security within their communities.
In his address, the Councillor to the Executive Governor of Kaduna State on Political Matters, Rt. Honourable Ado Dogo Audu, praised the youths of Jagindi for their dedication to peace-building initiatives. He urged them to continue supporting the annual 5-aside football competition, which has become a symbol of unity and collaboration in the region.
“Your commitment to peace is commendable, and I encourage you to remain steadfast as ambassadors of peace. Together, we can build a stronger and more united community,” Audu stated.
Also speaking at the event, the Chief of Godo Godo, His Royal Highness Reverend Dr. Habila Sa’idu, charged the youths to embrace peace and engage in innovative activities that promote self-reliance. He urged them to set aside their differences and work collectively toward common goals that benefit society.
The football tournament concluded with a thrilling final match, where Ungwan Zango United emerged victorious, defeating Tsintsiya United 2-1. The event not only showcased sporting talent but also reinforced the importance of unity and peaceful coexistence in the area
The tournament and the accompanying messages underscored the collective commitment of leaders and youths in Jema’a Local Government to building a peaceful and prosperous community through sports, innovation, and collaboration.
