Senator Katung's Solar-Power Borehole Project: A game Changer for Kaduna South Communities

Relief is on the way for communities in Kad1una South Senatorial District as Senator Sunday Marshall Katung launches a Solar-Power. This initiative aims to tackle water scarcity by constructing solar-powered boreholes with mini treatment plants across multiple locations.

The project will benefit several institutions, including the Kaduna State College of Nursing and Midwifery, Kafanchan, where construction is already underway, as well as the Kaduna State College of Education, Gidan-Waya, and the Federal School of Statistics, Manchok. Communities such as Antong, Zitti, Madakiya Central, Zango Urban, Zonkwa Market, and Ghauta will also receive boreholes.

The project, awarded to CWM Contracting Ltd, is part of an initiative by the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). This development comes on the heels of Senator Katung's approval for the construction of 30 manual boreholes across various communities in the senatorial district.

Senator Katung, through his Media Aide Midat Joseph, emphasized his commitment to addressing water scarcity and improving the quality of life for his constituents. "The successful completion of these projects will significantly improve access to clean water, enhance public health, and improve the overall quality of life in the district," Joseph stated. He described Senator Katung as a leader deeply dedicated to the well-being of the people of Southern Kaduna. "Access to clean water is a basic necessity, and this initiative is a major step towards improving public health in our communities.
