Governor Idris Expands Access to Global Education, Approves N585.4 Million for Kebbi Students in India

Demonstrating his unwavering commitment to education, Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has approved the payment of N585.4 million for the tuition fees of 100 Kebbi students studying in prestigious Indian universities.

The approval, facilitated by the Ministry of Higher Education, underscores the Governor’s passion for advancing knowledge in science and technology. Speaking on the initiative, Commissioner for Higher Education Isa Abubakar Tunga praised the Governor’s efforts, describing him as a professional teacher championing global competitiveness for Kebbi’s youth.

“All students are pursuing science-related courses such as Medicine,” the Commissioner stated, adding that another 25 Kebbi students are currently studying Medicine and Nursing Sciences in Egypt through scholarships. The state government ensures their upkeep, covering feeding, accommodation, and resident permits.

Governor Idris’ vision for education extends beyond immediate commitments. Plans are underway to secure approvals for additional funding, ensuring Kebbi students abroad receive full support. This investment reflects the Governor’s pledge to equip future generations with the skills needed to drive progress in Kebbi State.
